Perched 165 metres above the sea on the wild northwest coast, the property opened in 1971 and has maintained its status as one of the most dramatic hotel positions in Europe ever since. The cliffs around it are UNESCO-protected; the views from the terraced pools are genuinely vertiginous; the silence, interrupted only by wind and sea, is total.
